The smaller grid changes the rhythm more than the theme. There are only 15 positions, so the normal win threshold drops to five matching symbols rather than the eight required by the original Gates of Olympus. Symbols still pay anywhere; they do not need to touch or follow a line.

The POP version uses 15 reel positions instead of the original 30, and a normal win starts from five matching symbols instead of eight. The new POP symbol is the bigger mechanical change. It counts toward the Free Spins trigger and can also attach a fixed award to the same triggering combination.
The 1,000x multiplier ceiling is twice the original game’s 500x symbol cap. It is still only a multiplier symbol value, not a guaranteed 1,000x win and not the game’s overall maximum. Gates of Olympus POP can award up to 25,000x total bet.
How Gates of Olympus POP Works
Pay Anywhere and Tumbles
A normal payout begins with at least five matching regular symbols anywhere across the 3x5 grid. Adjacency is irrelevant. Five matching symbols scattered across different reels and rows can pay exactly as a group of five sitting next to one another.
Winning symbols disappear after the payout is formed. New symbols drop into the empty spaces, creating another grid without charging for another spin. If the new layout contains another qualifying match, the tumble continues. The sequence stops on the first grid that produces no new regular-symbol win.
Multiplier Symbols
Multiplier symbols can land in the base game and during Free Spins. Their values can reach 1,000x and they remain active through consecutive tumbles from the same paid spin.
Multiple multiplier values are added together. A 5x and a 10x multiplier create a 15x combined multiplier, not 50x. Once the tumble sequence ends, the active multiplier total boosts the qualifying win from that sequence.
A multiplier symbol by itself is not a payout. There still needs to be a winning regular-symbol combination for the multiplier to affect.
